Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Al Haqqani (q)

'I haven't been able to post about the passing of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) as it has been hard for me. I would just like to share this tribute video to him I came across by Sufilive. There are no words I could think of when it comes to Mawlana's departure from this world, but I am comforted that he will always be with us in his teachings, example and divine connection iA. I can say no more...

Bought this lovely piece for my dining room, oh how I love peacocks!

"Seek deep within your inner self and magnify the many colorful layers within your magnificent and vibrant soul. Expose and express your bold and beautiful self by spreading your feathers freely and proudly like a peacock for all the world to see." -Melanie Moushigian Koulouris

It's Been A Long Time...

Well, it's been a very long time since I haven't blogged or put finger on keys in reference to my thoughts. So much has happened and at times I had writer's block or was too overwhelmed to spill thoughts anywhere. Many amazing things have happened for me this year; I got married to a wonderful man, I moved to Canada, I have been traveling, I have a break from working and my migraines, TMJ and pains from my accident have gone away, alhamdulillah. I also had some hard experiences this year; I moved away from my family and friends, my office dad and friend Harrison Bryant passed away, Shaykh Nazim passed away and most recently, my beloved paternal grandmother Bebe Jaan passed away. I often remind myself that as Rumi puts it, God teaches us in means of opposites and that we are a brush in the hand of the Master Painter. If we don't experience storms, we wouldn't appreciate the calm and stillness of peace. I miss blogging. I miss writing poetry. I hope now that things have settled down and I have been settling in to a new environment and settling in to married life and have some quiet time, I can go back to my days of writing...and typing. :)
