Every flower with it’s own scent
And every one with his own ability to smell.
He who denies that the flower emits a scent
Would be wiser to admit that
It is he who has no sense of smell.

Qur'an 97, 1-5) [2]

In the name of God, the Benevolent, the Merciful.
1 Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Predestination.
2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Night of Power is!
3 The Night of Power has more blessings than a thousand months.
4 The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.
5 (The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn.

The verses above regard the Night as better than one thousand months. The whole month of Ramadan is a period of spiritual training wherein believers devote much of their time to fasting, praying, reciting the Qur'an, remembering God, and giving charity. However because of the revealed importance of this night, Muslims strive harder in the last ten days of Ramadan since the Laylat al-Qadr could be one of the odd-numbered days in these last ten (the first, third, fifth, or seventh). Normally, some Muslims from each community would perform an i'tikaf in the mosque: they remain in the mosque for the last ten days of the month for prayers and recitation.

It is recommended to supplicate a great deal in it, it is reported from 'Aa'ishah, RA that she said: "O Messenger of Allaah! What if I knew which night Lailatul-Qadr was, then what should I say in it?" He said: "Say: Allaahumma innaka 'affuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee." (O Allaah you are the one who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.) (at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah)

always warms my heart...

The outer banks is calling my name again...
While it may be no Hawaii, it's my favorite spot because it's so quiet and it's not packed with people...May be on the agenda this winter insh'Allah...

“And if Allah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but he; and if he intends any good for you, there is none who can keep back his favour; he brings it to whom he pleases of his servants; and he is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
(Qur’an, Surah Yunus; 10:107)

“Men of ill judgment ignore the good that lies within their hands, till they have lost it.” - Sophocles

Mash'Allah...

Ramadan around the world

I was sent a link to these pictures on Boston.com and want to share. The 3rd one is so sweet!

be like a river in generosity and help
be like the sun in tenderness and mercy
be like the night in covering the faults of others
be like the dead in anger and nervousness
be like the earth in modesty and humility
be like the sea in tolerance
be like your appearance (image), or appear like yourself.

This aloneness is worth more than a thousand lives.
This freedom is worth more than all the lands on earth.
To be one with the truth for just a moment,
Is worth more than the world and life itself.
